Connect HubSpot to Tend
User guide · Updated October 3, 2026
Tend is an AI assistant you text or use at heytend.me. Once HubSpot is connected, you can ask Tend in plain English to look up and update your contacts, companies, deals and tickets, log calls, notes, tasks and meetings, work with products, quotes and line items, draft marketing emails, and manage campaigns. Tend asks before it changes or sends anything in your HubSpot account.
Set up
- Join the early-access list. Go to heytend.me/login and enter your mobile number. Tend is invite-only while in early access, so your number is added to our early-users list.
- Get approved. When we approve you, you receive a text message on that phone with a link that signs you in to Tend. The link works once and lasts 24 hours. From then on, you sign in with your phone number and a code we text you.
- Connect HubSpot, in either of two ways:
- By text: text Tend “Connect my HubSpot”. Tend replies with a secure link. Open it, sign in to HubSpot on its own page, and click Allow. Tend carries on the conversation by itself once you are connected.
- On the web: sign in at heytend.me with the same phone number, open Accounts, choose HubSpot and click Connect. Sign in to HubSpot and click Allow.
- Check it is connected. heytend.me/integrations/hubspot shows Connected, with a Disconnect button if you ever want to remove it.
- Ask Tend. By text or on the web, ask in plain English for what you need from HubSpot. Tend asks you before it changes or sends anything.
What you can ask Tend
- “What closes this month?”
- “Log my call with Dana at Northwind — they want to start in November.”
- “Move the Northwind deal to Contract sent, and remind me to follow up Friday.”
- “Add a contact for jane@example.com at Lakeside Bakery.”
- “Open a ticket: Lakeside can't log in to the dashboard, high priority.”
- “Draft a marketing email announcing our fall sale.”
- “List my HubSpot campaigns.”
For anything that changes your account, such as creating or updating a record, moving a deal, logging an activity, or creating an email draft or a campaign, Tend tells you exactly what it is about to do and waits for your yes.
What your HubSpot plan decides
Some of HubSpot's features are part of its paid plans. HubSpot decides this, for Tend as for any app; on an account without the plan, Tend says what it can't reach.
- Campaigns: Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise
- Workflows: Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise
- Leads: Sales Hub Professional or Enterprise
- Sending marketing emails through the API: Marketing Hub Enterprise, or the transactional email add-on
- Contacts, companies, deals, tickets, products, quotes and email drafts: Any HubSpot account
What data moves between HubSpot and Tend
- From HubSpot to Tend: when you ask, Tend reads the HubSpot data it needs to answer: your contacts, companies, deals, tickets, notes, tasks, calls and meetings, owners, pipelines and properties, products, quotes and line items, marketing emails and campaigns.
- From Tend to HubSpot: only the changes you approve, for example a new or updated record, a deal moved to another stage, a logged activity or task, a marketing email draft, or a campaign.
- What Tend keeps: a log of each action it takes in HubSpot, and only what is worth remembering about your work. It does not keep a copy of your HubSpot data.
- Your sign-in: the access HubSpot grants is held by Composio, the service Tend uses to connect accounts, not in Tend's database.

Permissions Tend asks for
Required: Read and write access to contacts, companies, deals and tickets, and read access to owners. HubSpot asks every account for these.
Optional: Products, line items and quotes; invoices, orders, carts, subscriptions and payments; marketing emails and content; campaigns and marketing events; lists, forms and files; workflows; conversations; timeline events; custom objects and their definitions; goals and leads; users and teams; imports and exports; CMS domains; communication preferences; and transactional email. HubSpot grants an optional permission only if your account has access to it, and its absence never blocks connecting.
Disconnecting
Open heytend.me/integrations/hubspot and click Disconnect, or click Disconnect next to HubSpot under Accounts in Tend. Tend loses access at once; nothing in HubSpot is changed or deleted. In HubSpot itself, Settings → Integrations → Connected Apps lists Tend, with Uninstall under Actions.
